A direct deposition methodology has been optimized for highly crystalline inorganic-organic (IO) perovskite thin films. The simplest deposition ensures long-range order with high c-oriented thin films, thicknesses ranging from ultra-thin (~20nm) and upto 1.5 μm. These selfassembled layered perovskites are naturally aligned alternative stacking arrangement of inorganic and organic monolayers, resemble multiple quantum wells (MQWs), which offers superior optoelectronic properties such as room-temperature optical excitons, strong electrically induced photo-carrier mobilities etc. The established fabrication is having devicecompatible advantage over other conventional solution-processed thin films wherein the optical features are restricted by thickness limitations (&lt;200nm) and with possible corrugated surface morphologies with multi-phases. The universally acceptable ability has been demonstrated for wide varieties of organic moieties (R) as well as different lead halide networks in type (RNH3)2PbX4 (X = I, Br,Cl).The potential of the direct deposition is demonstrated for 3D template structure fabrication as well as in photocurrent response capability. © 2014 Optical Society of America.

Direct deposition strategy for highly ordered inorganic organic perovskite thin films and their optoelectronic applications

This paper presents the experimental studies on self-breakdown-based single-gap plasma cathode electron (PCE) gun (5-20 kV/50-160 A) in argon, gas atmosphere and its performance evaluation based on particle-in-cell (PIC) simulation code OOPIC-Pro. The PCE-Gun works in conducting phase (low energy, high current) of pseudospark discharge. It produces an intense electron beam, which can propagate more than 200 mm in the drift space region without external magnetic field. The profile of this beam in the drift space region at different breakdown conditions (i.e., gas pressures and applied voltages) has been studied and the experimental results are compared with simulated values. It is demonstrated that30% beam current is lost during the propagation possibly due to space charge neutralization and collisions with neutral particles and walls. © Indian Academy of Sciences.

Performance evaluation of self-breakdown-based single-gap plasma cathode electron gun

To estimate plasma parameters in a dielectric barrier discharge (DBD)-based single barrier capillary source, a spatio-temporal plasma spectroscopy and a particle-in-cell simulation code OOPIC-Pro has been used. The developed DBD source consists of a 10-cm length capillary source with diagonally opposite striped electrodes pasted on the cylindrically hollow quartz tube of 4-mm outer and 2-mm inner diameters, respectively. The plasma has been produced in helium atmosphere using pulsed power source with 2-5 kV, 30-kHz square pulse having pulsewidth (2μ) s at different operating pressures. For space resolved plasma diagnostic, a high-resolution intensified charge coupled device camera has been used. The images of the discharge patterns of this pulsed DBD source have been compared with the simulation results and certain useful discharge parameters have been obtained. The obtained electron density in plasma from simulation has been compared with discharge resistivity method, which is found to be in close agreement. The filamentary and diffused discharge patterns have also been analyzed based on the electrical discharge patterns obtained from the simulation, which provides additional insight in such narrow DBD discharges. © 2014 IEEE.

Plasma parameter estimation in capillary single barrier DBD source using space resolved plasma spectroscopy and PIC simulation

We will discuss a small novel hexagonal shaped geometry for ultra wideband (UWB) monopole antenna with notch characteristics. The self-similar nature of this fractal like geometry provides higher effective antenna length and wide operating bandwidth because of the onset of multiple resonances. Notch characteristics are introduced using a rectangular slot in the ground plane, which enhances the reflection coefficient over the entire UWB frequency operating range for the proposed device. The optimized 19 mm × 15 mm dimensions, for the proposed antenna are the smallest among such geometries, exhibiting a large bandwidth from 3.1 GHz to 11.7 GHz with VSWR &lt; 2 over the entire frequency range. The proposed antenna demonstrates nearly omnidirectional radiation pattern, proper impedance matching, and good return loss over the entire UWB frequency range. © 2013 IEEE.

Stability analysis of self-similar pulse propagation through dispersion oscillating specialty optical fibers

We study bipartite entangled states in arbitrary dimensions and obtain different bounds for the entanglement measures in terms of teleportation fidelity. We find that there is a simple relation between negativity and teleportation fidelity for pure states, but for mixed states, an upper bound is obtained for negativity in terms of teleportation fidelity using convex-roof extension negativity. However, with this, it is not clear how to distinguish between states useful for teleportation and positive partial transpose (PPT) entangled states. Further, there exists a strong conjecture in the literature that all PPT entangled states, in 3 ⊗ 3 systems, have Schmidt rank two. This motivates us to develop measures capable of identifying states useful for teleportation and dependent on the Schmidt number. We thus establish various relations between teleportation fidelity and entanglement measures depending upon Schmidt rank of the states. These relations and bounds help us to determine the amount of entanglement required for teleportation, which we call the "Entanglement of Teleportation." These bounds are used to determine the teleportation fidelity as well as the entanglement required for teleportation of states modeled by a two-qutrit mixed system, as well as two-qubit open quantum systems. © 2013 Springer Science+Business Media New York.

Quantification of entanglement of teleportation in arbitrary dimensions

We illustrate the principle of a cryptographic switch for a quantum scenario, in which a third party (Charlie) can control to a continuously varying degree the amount of information the receiver (Bob) receives, after the sender (Alice) has sent her information through a quantum channel. Suppose Charlie transmits a Bell state to Alice and Bob. Alice uses dense coding to transmit two bits to Bob. Only if the 2-bit information corresponding to the choice of the Bell state is made available by Charlie to Bob can the latter recover Alice's information. By varying the amount of information Charlie gives, he can continuously alter the information recovered by Bob. The performance of the protocol as subjected to the squeezed generalized amplitude damping channel is considered. We also present a number of practical situations where a cryptographic switch would be of use. © 2012 Springer Science+Business Media, LLC.
