Dr. Tanmoy Kundu obtained his Ph.D. from National Taiwan University. During his doctoral studies, he was awarded Fellowship for the Outstanding International Doctoral Student from National Taiwan University and received the prestigious Ph.D. thesis writing grant from the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of Taiwan. After completing his Ph.D., he joined the Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya as an Assistant Professor of Operations and Supply Chain. Post that, he was associated with The Logistics Institute - Asia Pacific at the National University of Singapore, where his role involved leading and managing industrial research and consultancy projects related to logistics and transportation. One such recent consultancy work involved investigating Singapore’s largest parcel delivery service provider’s AS-IS outbound parcel delivery operations in Singapore and suggesting service process and performance improvement strategies. In Singapore, he also worked with practitioners on various other projects, such as 1) E-commerce control tower for consolidation of shipments in the last-mile e-commerce logistics and 2) Mitigating risks in temperature-controlled international (Germany-Singapore) supply chains using blockchain technology.
His current research interests are in the area of Last-mile Logistics, Humanitarian Logistics, Intelligent Logistics, and Multi-modal (Air/Maritime/Surface) Transportation and Sustainable Supply Chain Management. He uses Game Theory, Network Optimization, and Complex Networks as research methods
In parallel to his research and teaching experience, he also has had entrepreneurship experience in India and Taiwan. His team won the prestigious Sinyi School Sustainability for Wellbeing award for sustainable business plan competition in 2017 held in Taipei, Taiwan, and Hult Prize@National Taiwan University, Taipei. Besides, he is also on the advisory board of various start-ups in the logistics domain.
