Dr. Sunita joined the Dept. of Physics, IIT Jodhpur in September 2022 as an Assistant Professor.

Prior to that, she worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, China, and the University of Lisbon, Portugal with Prof. Nuno Araujo and Prof. Margarida Telo Gamma. In JNCASR, Bangalore, she worked as a research associate with Prof. Subir K Das.

She received her doctoral degree in Physics ​from Banaras Hindu University. During her PhD, she has constructed the first thermodynamics model to analyze the nonlinear dielectric effect and the effect of pressure on the structure and properties of the achiral, bent-core, and ferroelectric liquid crystals.
