

I am Dr. Sunil Lohar, professional artist, and have completed PhD recently (2022) at the Centre for Exact Humanities, IIIT-Hyderabad. My Research topic is ‘Style and Icons: A formal study of Indian Folk Paintings’. I have presented and published my papers in national & international conferences and journals respectively.
I have extensive (12+ years) High school (IB) and UG level teaching experience in the Centre for Exact Humanities, International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad, India, most of it is focused on the theory of Visual Arts. My work provides a useful link between Art practices, Philosophy & Society, while, encouraging research and teaching collaborations.
I have qualified for the NET (The National Eligibility Test). In 2019, I was invited as an artist in residency for six weeks by the Bordeaux Metropole, Bordeaux, France. During my stay in Bordeaux, I have delivered a lecture seminar to the undergraduate and master students from the Department of Arts of Bordeaux Montaigne University, France. I have been actively showcasing my works both in India and foreign countries.
I have been the recipient of the Junior Fellowship CCRT, Government of India; Karnataka Lalita Kala Academy; Bodhi National Award, India; and National Scholarship from HRD Ministry, Government of India.
