Dr. Amitava Banerjee is a Assistant Professor Grade I in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Jodhpur. He graduated in B.Sc., Industrial Chemistry from Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira College, Belur Math. He post-graduated in Master of Science (M.Sc.), Materials Science from Sardar Patel University. He also have another post-graduated in Master of Technology (M.Tech.), Materials Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. He completed his Doctor of Philosophy - PhD, Energy Conversion and Storage from Uppsala University, Sweden. His expertise in Metallurgy and Metallurgical Engineering such as Crystal Structures Search techniques; Battery Thermodynamics and Kinetics modelling; Defect mediated oxide growth and corrosion, Heterostructure interface design; Understanding catalytic reaction mechanism: Water splitting, hydrogen and oxygen evolution reaction, oxygen and nitrogen reduction reaction, CO2 reduction; Organic crystal structures prediction; 2D materials modelling; Solar Cells; Density Functional Theory; Molecular Dynamics and Temperature accelerated Dynamics.
