Streamlining Economic Load Dispatch Operations Through Cloud Solutions

Abstract

In the modern power industry, Economic Load Dispatch (ELD) operations are crucial for optimizing the cost and efficiency of power generation across diverse energy sources. This paper presents the implementation of an ELD model using cloud services focusing on the development of an iterative algorithmic solution to address the limitations of local grid systems. The ELD model considers the factors like transmission losses and generator limits. Implementing the ELD model on a cloud platform, scalability, flexibility, and real-time data processing are enhanced, leading to improved operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Comparative analysis between local and cloud-based implementations highlights the superior performance in adapting to load fluctuations and dynamic resource demands. Cloud not only streamlines ELD operations but also provide a single platform for facilitating better management and integration across multiple power plants at various locations. Future directions include exploring matching learning techniques for load prediction and assessing the cloud-based implementation in various regulatory environments.
