Abstract
In this letter, an air filled substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) based cavity backed slot antenna design is proposed to achieve high radiation efficiency and gain by reducing the dielectric loss component by removing the dielectric inside the cavity. An effective miniaturization is also achieved by introducing a specialized slot backed by the cavity. © 2018 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
